 Steve Sandberg’s Images of Infamy: Second Edition is a powerful artistic tribute to the events of September 11, 2001. Through evocative drawings and symbolic imagery, Sandberg captures the emotion, tragedy, and resilience surrounding that day. As an artist and curator, I am touched and overwhelmed by the compelling depth and visual power of Sandberg's storytelling in Images of Infamy. I had included his drawings in a group exhibit 20 years ago but had never seen the breadth of the series until recently in this book. Each drawing is filled with symbolism including 9 and 11 in different forms and can be looked at over and over with new insights. Created by a teacher, this book is also a wonderful educational tool for young people and adults to learn how to express and process personal and global traumas through art and writing. In addition to my own copy, I have bought several as gifts for friends including one who was a first responder.
